Funded PhD Studentship in Agile Research

Full-time Paid PhD studentship available.
Applications are invited for a full time PhD studentship in the field of IT and Business Agile Transformation. This project will investigate Agile transformation in organisational settings, including IT-focused and whole organisation transformations. Areas of research focus might include drivers, cultural change, business value, or sustainability. The project involves undertaking empirical research in organisations and working closely with collaborators to provide insights and evidence for the practitioner community. The position will be based at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, UK.

The Agile Research Network
The successful candidate will become part of the Agile Research Network (ARN), a group of researchers in the UK based at the University of Central Lancashire and the Open University. The ARN has worked together since 2013 undertaking empirical research into agile approaches with the aim of making research results useful and accessible to practitioners. This position is co-funded by the Agile Business Consortium, a not-for-profit professional body that promotes and enables business agility, and the University of Central Lancashire.

Candidate profile
We will consider candidates who have BSc or MSc degrees in Computing, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business, or related subject, with top grades. The candidate must have an interest in doing qualitative empirical research, demonstrate an excellent level of spoken and written English, possess good interpersonal and communication skills and be prepared to work in business settings.
