De Montfort University's Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility: Position of a Research Fellow

De Montfort University's Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility (CCSR; www.dmu.ac.uk/ccsr) is offering the position of a Research Fellow to work across two EU funded projects namely "Shaping the ethical dimensions of smart information systems a European perspective" (SHERPA) and "Responsible Research and Innovation Networked Globally" (RRING) projects.

Role
You will be employed on a 0.6 FTE temporary contract for a period of 36 months starting from 1st of May 2018 to 30th of April 2021.
For the RRING project, you will be expected to contribute to a range of DMU tasks which include research methodology and research around aspects of state of the art of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in a global context.
For the SHERPA project you will be expected to contribute to tasks related to project management and research activities related to smart information systems such as artificial intelligence and big data analytics including ethics and human rights issues.

Ideal Candidate
You are expected to have excellent research and analytical skills. You should be a self-starter, who is able to work with minimal supervision. You are expected to work to tight schedules in order to meet required deadlines. You should also be prepared to publish conference and journal papers related to the area of the project.

You are expected to have knowledge of RRI, ethics, stakeholder engagement, civil society organisations and related other areas. You may be required to travel for research purposes and to project meetings in order to represent DMU as effectively as possible.

You should be have a PhD or close to completing their PhD in a relevant field. Details of the Centre can be found at www.dmu.ac.uk/ccsr.
