Tony’s research interests are in the philosophy of artificial intelligence, philosophy of cognitive science, philosophy of information and information technology, phenomenology, and meta-ethics. He studies the metaphysical requirements for moral agency, a range of topics concerning how information and information technology affect cognition and moral sense, and, more technically, how to get “elementary cognition” from simple networks.
Tony served two terms as executive director of the International Association for Computing and Philosophy and one term as president.
